, translator and is the President of the New Bulgarian University, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NBU. Bogdan Bogdanov was Professor of ancient Greek literature and culture at the University of Sofia till 2009. He was also Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Greece (l99l — l993).
Bogdan Bogdanov is the author of more than 200 books, articles and translations in the field of university education, Ancient Greek literature, culture philosophy and human relations.

This book presents an untraditional perspective of Ancient Greek works, whose models of reality have been preserved until the present, when the new perspective turns them from literature into a mode of behavior. A new model of interpretation is constructed, which brings closer the literary text towards the context of the reader, also transforming its permanent elements. Among the authors discussed are Pindar, Sophocles, Herodotus, Saint Augustine, Marcus Aurelius. This book traces the realization of the "mythological precedent" and the way in which mythology and reality interact. Or, in the words of the author himself:

“Now I hold the view that the mythological is the operating in itself with the two worlds, notwithstanding what they are. Mythological is any operating with here and there, when the two are associated and applied for the apprehension of the other; when they are a model of a complex world, but also a concrete form of a reality formation of one or another type".
